PULLMAN, WA – Pullman Regional Hospital’s general surgery practice, Pullman Surgery and Gastroenterology, welcomes Acute Care Surgeons Dr. Justine Gavagan and Dr. Kathryn Jones.
Dr. Justine Gavagan joins Pullman Regional with more than 20 years of surgical experience. She has spent 17 years in trauma surgery and the last five years focused on acute care at Logan Health Medical Center in Kalispell, MT. Dr. Gavagan attended medical school at the University of Wisconsin in Madison and completed her general surgery residency at Oregon Health & Science University in Portland.
Dr. Gavagan enjoys surgery because she likes being able to fix things and make an immediate impact for her patients. “I love walking into the ER and seeing someone I know I can help,” she shared. “Surgery is a team sport, and I’m excited to be part of the team at Pullman Surgery and Gastroenterology.”
Dr. Kathryn Jones earned her Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from Pacific Northwest University of Health Sciences in Yakima, Washington. She went on to complete a rigorous internship and general surgery residency at Northeast Regional Medical Center in Kirksville, Missouri. Dr. Jones refined her surgical skills through a robust elective and acute care general surgery practice in Southwest Oklahoma from 2023 to 2025.
Known for her compassionate approach and dedication to patient care, Dr. Jones is excited to bring her surgical expertise and commitment to health and wellness to the Pullman Regional team and the surrounding community. She finds meaning in surgery through helping patients solve problems and regain their quality of life. Dr. Jones emphasized, "I want my patients to feel safe, comfortable and fully informed about their care." She is delighted to join a group of surgeons who are excellent technically, have a team-oriented vision, and are compassionate members of the community.
