PULLMAN, WA–The Pullman Regional Hospital Laboratory has received accreditation from the American College of Pathologists (CAP). To earn and maintain certification, inspectors examine the laboratory’s records, processes and quality control procedures every two years. CAP inspectors also examine laboratory staff qualifications, equipment, facilities, safety programs and records, and overall management. Over 800 regulations must be met to receive accreditation.
“This is the gold standard in accreditation,” says Jennifer Matera, Laboratory Services Director of the Pullman Regional Hospital Laboratory. “The American College of Pathologists seal is a direct reflection of high-quality performance and something we’re very proud to earn year after year.”
The team of laboratory professionals at the Pullman Regional Hospital Laboratory includes a board-certified pathologist through a longstanding partnership with Incyte Diagnostics, ASCP certified medical laboratory scientists, laboratory information specialists and phlebotomists. In addition to CAP accreditation, the laboratory maintains compliance with Washington State Department of Health regulations.
“In addition to meeting rigorous standards, our team is compassionate and experienced,” says Matera.
The Pullman Regional Hospital Laboratory performed over 181,071 inpatient and outpatient laboratory tests in 2024, including blood, stool, urine, transfusion services and drug tests.
