Pullman, WA – Three Pullman Regional Hospital owned practices—Palouse Heart Center, Palouse Sleep Medicine and Palouse Psychiatry & Behavioral Health—are now co-located on the second level of Pullman Regional Hospital, in Suite 201, near the private practice Palouse Medical.

“A shared space supports important collaboration amongst physicians,” said Scott Adams, Pullman Regional Hospital CEO. “This is exciting progress in drawing upon our collective expertise to further enhance the patient experience.”

The hospital established Palouse Psychiatry & Behavioral Health in 2009, Palouse Heart Center in 2017, and Palouse Sleep Medicine in 2019.

“We recognized there are strong relationships with heart, sleep and mental health,” said Karly Port, Chief Clinic Network Officer for Pullman Regional Hospital. “Locating these practices in one space at the hospital allows these providers to work more effectively and efficiently through team medicine.”

Sharing the space is David Jones, MD, FACC (Cardiologist), Usha Nandhini, MD (specializing in Sleep Medicine), Erik Bayona, MD (Psychiatrist), Chad Sanders, PhD (Clinical Neuropsychologist), Katie Caffrey, PhD (Clinic Psychologist) and Deborah Blazzard, ARNP (Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner). Ruth Adepetun, NP and Patricia Wilson, DNP support Palouse Psychiatry & Behavioral Health through telepsychiatry.

An additional activity in the co-located space supporting a simplified, patient-focused experience, is care coordination. Serving as an extension of the providers, care coordinators, Heather Davis, RN and Hailey Zimmerman, RN will connect with patients after procedures, support device checks and schedule appointments.

Dr. Erik Bayona and Dr. Usha Nandhini are the newest physicians to join the hospital’s clinic network.

Dr. Bayona earned his undergraduate degree at UCLA, where he also attended medical school. He completed his residency and fellowship, which included additional training in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, at the University of New Mexico. Dr. Bayona sees patients who are experiencing depression, bipolar disorders, anxiety disorders, trauma-related and stressor-related disorders, psychotic disorders, substance use disorders, and provides child and adolescent psychiatry.

Dr. Nandhini completed her Internal Medicine Residency at St Vincent's hospital, in Worcester, MA and her Sleep Medicine fellowship at Boston Medical Center in Boston, MA. She treats children, adolescents and adults for sleep disorders including sleep apnea, insomnia, restless leg syndrome, shiftwork sleep disorders, pediatric sleep apnea, sleep walking, night terrors and treats sleep schedule disorders.

The Palouse Heart Center was previously located on the main level of the hospital, Palouse Sleep Medicine and Palouse Psychiatry & Behavioral Health were previously housed in Corporate Pointe, which is across Bishop Blvd from the hospital.

A referral is needed to schedule an appointment with providers at Palouse Heart Center, Palouse Sleep Medicine and Palouse Psychiatry & Behavioral Health.
