Pullman Regional Hospital Hospital Week 2021

This year’s Hospital Week is presented by the Pullman Regional Hospital’s Center for Learning & Innovation and will include several activities for both our staff and the community the week of May 10-14. The theme of this year’s activities is Healing through the Arts.

Studies have proven that integrating the arts into healthcare settings helps to cultivate a healing environment, support the physical, mental, and emotional recovery of patients, communicate health and recovery information, and foster a positive environment for caregivers that reduces stress and improves workplace satisfaction and employee retention.

Community-Wide Activities

MAY 10 | The Heart of the Community Art Project
Pullman Regional Hospital invites all community members to participate in the Heart of the Community Art project. Each participant will be provided a 4” x 4” ceramic tile and supplies to create a heart themed masterpiece that will be combined into one art piece and displayed in the hospital. (Limited to 200 participants)

MAY 12 & 14 | Art and Healing Art Exhibit Tour at the Jordan Schnitzer Museum of Art at WSU
This curator led tour of the museum’s permanent collection in the Collection Study Center at the Jordan Schnitzer Museum of Art at WSU will showcase and discuss how visual arts can be used to promote physical and mental health and well-being. Works from current exhibitions and permanent collections will be used to draw attention to the therapeutic aspects of visual, auditory, tactile, and spatial art experiences.
