    PULLMAN, WA–This year, the Pullman Regional Hospital Auxiliary funded twenty-three internal grant awards to Pullman Regional Hospital departments and clinics, totaling $47,039.79 Staff from the hospital’s Red Sage Café donated an additional $2,653, the yearly donations collected from a tip jar.

     

    2025 grants funded the following requests:

    • BirthPlace patients—yarn and fabric for volunteers who knit and crochet baby hats and sew rice bags; Halo Sleep Sacks for every newborn; pumping bras; Baby K’tan wraps for nurses to hold newborns experiencing opiate withdrawal; Mamaroo swing for newborns
    • Comfort and home care tools—gel seat cushions for wheelchairs; fabric for volunteer-made blankets for end-of-life patients; home care kits for heart failure and stroke patients; oxygen concentrator for palliative care appointments; AccuVein device for easier vein location; Barium swallow chair for diagnosing and treating swallowing disorders; Red light therapy wrap for tissue mobility and scar care
    • Direct patient support and flexibility—funds for patients unable to afford medications; Flexible funds through Care Coordination for emerging patient needs; a patient pantry in the Residency Center, led by a Resident Physician
    • Patient and staff education—books and presentation materials for volunteer chaplains
    • Pediatric care enhancements—fully stocked pediatric resuscitation cart; toys and books for waiting rooms; stuffed animals for pediatric patients across all departments

     

    The Auxiliary raises funds through sales at Diane’s Gift Garden, located in the hospital, membership fees and donations, and several fundraisers during Valentine’s Day and Christmas.

     

    About the Auxiliary

    Managed by a volunteer board of directors and led by Auxiliary President, Sharon Hall, the membership-based Pullman Regional Hospital Auxiliary makes annual financial contributions to Pullman Regional Hospital for the purchase of patient comfort items. Since its inception in 1968, the Auxiliary has donated more than $1 million to the hospital. Volunteers help staff the Gift Garden and support annual fundraisers.
