PULLMAN, WA—The Pullman Regional Hospital Women’s Leadership Guild awarded $5,400 to the non-profit Pullman School Pantry Program, at the annual Girlfriends Gather event held on May 12.

The event drew 54 women who each made a $100 contribution to nominate an eligible non-profit of their choice to keep all donations. To be eligible, the non-profits must align with the mission to serve women’s and children’s health and wellness in Whitman, Latah, Nez Perce or Asotin County.

16 non-profits were nominated at the event, and three were drawn at random to present their case. Event attendee, Jill Bielenberg, spoke on behalf of Pullman School Pantry Program. After the three presentations, all attendees submitted their vote for one of the three.

“We definitely look to the Guild for their leadership and dedication toward supporting children’s needs,” said Meg Gollnick, Pullman School Pantry Program Co-Founder. “The Guild was one of the very first grants we received to get our program started! And now we have just become our very own 501c3! We have the Guild to thank for that!”

“The Women’s Leadership Guild is so proud to support many non-profit agencies which empower women and children on the Palouse,” said Karen Davis-Morris, Chair of the Women’s Leadership Guild. “Our 4th Annual Girlfriends Gather event is such a meaningful experience; it’s just one of the ways we bring women together to accomplish incredible things.”
