PULLMAN, WA – Pullman Regional Hospital and Inland Orthopaedic Surgery & Sports Medicine Clinic are excited to announce the return of Dr. Steven Pennington to the team. Dr. Pennington, a Board-Certified Orthopaedic Surgeon with an additional certification in Sports Medicine by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery, has been a trusted provider of orthopedic care on the Palouse since 1997.

Dr. Pennington’s career includes 21 years as the Team Physician for the University of Idaho Vandals, where his expertise left a lasting impact on Vandal athletics. Most recently, Dr. Pennington and his wife Rachel returned from serving a 3-year religious mission in Argentina, leading a group of 150-200 young missionaries.

While he enjoyed his mission, Dr. Pennington is excited to return to his passion of orthopedics. "I loved this experience, but I missed orthopedics and my patients," he shared.

Dr. Pennington centers his care for patients around empathy and understanding. "I know I’m not seeing a patient on their best day—they’re hurting, they’re in pain. My goal is to help," he explained. His specialties include joint replacements, particularly partial knee replacements and anterior hips, along with a keen interest in hand surgeries and carpal tunnel treatment.

Patients wanting to schedule with Dr. Pennington can make an appointment through a referral to Inland Orthopaedic Surgery & Sports Medicine Clinic, which has offices in Pullman (located inside Pullman Regional Hospital) and Moscow.
