Pullman, WA—Melissa Francik, MS, RDN, LD, NBC-HWC, CSOWM, a Registered Dietitian, Wellness Coach and Weight Management Specialist with Pullman Regional Hospital’s Nutrition Therapy department, will host a mindfulness workshop and Q&A session at Merry Cellars in Pullman, on Wednesday, August 17 at 5:30pm.
Francik will facilitate a workshop drawing from Stephen Porges’ Polyvagal Theory, which proposes human bodies are constantly evaluating sensory input to stay safe, often subconsciously, based on past experiences. As a result, people may often find themselves automatically in a defensive state.
This social event provides an opportunity for guests to engage in a mindfulness exercise, learn tools to help evaluate their current state, and have a casual conversation with Melissa Francik. Appetizers are provided at no cost.
