PULLMAN, WA — The Pullman Regional Hospital Billing team caught a technical error in our electronic medical record self-pay software. The faulty Epic work queue system resulted in the delay of approximately 2,500 patients receiving continual reminder statements from January 2023 (when Pullman Regional adopted Epic as an electronic medical record system) to October 2025.
The programming error has been resolved, and patients will receive follow-up reminder statements and bills through MyChart or in the mail. Patients are encouraged to call (509) 332-1163 if they have any questions about their delayed notification.
The error impacted patients with a remaining self-pay balance for medical care at Pullman Regional Hospital and its network of clinics. Pullman Regional employs a team of financial counselors who support patients in understanding their medical expenses prior to care and advise on payment program options.
The www.pullmanregional.org/transparency webpage houses a Price Estimation Tool, lists of patient prices and additional contact information for financial support.
While this error impacted a small percentage of patients, we recognize it's confusing to receive a delayed statement and bill and want to provide transparency and additional support if people have questions.'
