Oh baby! 2024 is already a life changing year for Amber Mena and Fernando Mena-Robles of Clarkston, as they welcomed their first child.
Emiliano Fern Mena-Robles arrived into the world at Pullman Regional Hospital’s BirthPlace on January 1, 2024 at 2:19 pm. He was the first baby born at the hospital in 2024, weighing 7 pounds, 5 oz and measuring 21 inches long. Emiliano’s due date was originally January 8- but he decided to make his entrance into the world early; Amber’s water broke at 3:30am on January 1- shortly after the couple rang in the New Year!
Amber is a dental assistant in Clarkston and Fernando works at Joe Hall Ford. The couple has been married for 4 years and looks forward to introducing their son to their families- including Amber’s parents and siblings who also live in Clarkston, as well as the couple’s two German Shepherds.
While the couple was planning for birth with a local midwife, baby Emiliano had different plans and a hospital birth was recommended. “Everything has been great- from the nurses to the lactation consultant- we’ve felt so taken care of. We were still able to accommodate multiple things on our birth plan, which was great,” said Amber. “We’ll definitely be back here with our next one,” she laughed.
Dr. Theresa Myers of Moscow Pullman OB/GYN delivered Emiliano. “Our nurses and Dr. Myers were so helpful and explained exactly what was going to happen,” recalls Amber. “There were some bumps along the way, but the nursing team stayed calm and worked together so well.”
