When Phyllis Hunt brought her father to medical appointments and procedures at Pullman Regional Hospital & Clinic Network, she was confident he was in good hands.
Her father, John P. Hunt saw a variety of specialists for care throughout his life, including Dr. John Keizur of Palouse Urology, Dr. John Visger of Pullman Surgical Associates, and Dr. Dennis Simpson of Palouse Medical. Throughout the interactions with these doctors, Phyllis was comforted by their attention to detail, thoughtful treatment planning, and consideration for her elderly father.
"Dr. Simpson is always there when we've needed him for medical help. Being a pharmacist, I know how important it is to have a good medical team. Dad had that his entire time in Pullman and I am so thankful," says Phyllis Hunt.
"Dr. Visger was so kind, compassionate, and thorough in his discussion with my father and I. He successfully treated my father with a minimally invasive procedure. It is an amazing blessing to have such a skilled and kind surgeon in Pullman. It meant the world to my family that Dr. Visger could heal my father.”
"Dr. Keizur had been my father’s urologist for many years. In 2006 my dad was diagnosed with prostate cancer. Over the last 15 years, Dr. Keizur recommended treatments and helped manage the disease so it never became life threatening. Our family appreciates that Dr. Keizur saw my father as a person and made good on his promise that cancer would not end his life," says Phyllis Hunt. She also adds that “It’s such a wonderful gift that such a skilled doctor would choose to practice in Pullman.”
Phyllis Hunt honored each of these physicians with a Guardian Angel Award for the care they provided her father during his life. Pullman Regional Hospital’s Guardian Angel Grateful Patient Program provides patients and loved ones with a way to say “thank you” to a caregiver. If a physician, nurse, staff member, or volunteer has brought comfort to you in your time of need, please consider recognizing them with a gift to the Pullman Regional Hospital Foundation. Gifts to this special program pay tribute to the outstanding caregiver, while also helping to provide resources for the hospital’s highest needs.
If you’d like to learn more about the program or honor a Pullman Regional Hospital & Clinic Network caregiver that impacted you, information is available on the Guardian Angel Program webpage.
