Jeannie's Story

Jeannie's Story

In November 2024, Jeannie Eylar, former Chief Clinical Officer, retired from Pullman Regional Hospital after 34 years. Following her retirement, she established a professional development award, so Pullman Regional employees have the opportunity to further their education, obtain new certifications, and progress in their careers.

“I earned my master’s degree through a tuition assistance program from Pullman Regional Hospital, so I understand firsthand how impactful continued education assistance can be,” says Eylar. “Sometimes employees just need that extra push to get them started and to help foster their growth and development.”

The Jeannie Eylar Professional Development Award will focus on foundational healthcare professions including respiratory care, laboratory, nursing, and imaging staff. “My goal is to continue Pullman Regional’s history of professional development infrastructure to help people be the best they can be and continue the legacy of the organization,” says Eylar.

Applications will open August 1 and close August 31 annually. Applicants can apply for up to $1,500 in funding to help fund continued education, certifications, trainings, and career growth opportunities. The Pullman Regional Hospital Foundation Board of Directors’ Governance Committee will review applications and recommend award recipients to the Board for approval.

“Ultimately, I hope this grows and is something that others want to support,” reflects Eylar. Donations can be made to Pullman Regional Hospital Foundation’s Highest Need/Unrestricted Fund, by indicating the gift is to be directed to the Jeannie Eylar Professional Development Award.
