Goodbye 2020... Hello New Year

Written by Pullman Regional Hospital | Dec 15, 2020 5:05:16 PM

In addition to keeping our patients and staff safe during the COVID-19 pandemic, Pullman Regional Hospital continued to be recognized for exceptional care for all its patients in 2020. Below are some highlights of 2020 that include expanding access to primary care and mental health with new providers, a new clinic in Palouse, telemedicine, and more.

COVID-19 Response and Ongoing Care

We responded to the COVID-19 pandemic quickly and collaboratively. In April, we worked with Palouse Medical to set up a testing center for the community outside of the hospital. In October, Palouse Medical opened the ReadyCare Respiratory Center on Bishop Boulevard and the hospital’s testing center has moved inside.

The generosity of this community has been paramount to the hospital during a financially challenging situation. Through the COVID-19 Emergency Fund, more than $950,000 has been raised to support testing, PPE, and staff.

As we continue to experience surges in COVID-19 cases in the community, Pullman Regional Hospital clinicians and leaders meet daily to assess many aspects of readiness during the pandemic to ensure that we continue to provide safe care to all our patients. Hospital services and our medical clinics continue to provide telemedicine options for the safety of our patients and staff.

Palouse Health Center Opens

In August, we opened the Palouse Health Center which is part of Pullman Regional Hospital's Clinic Network. Since its opening through October, nearly 400 patients were served, many through telemedicine. The Palouse-based clinic, staffed by Jennifer Davis, PA-C and Kristine Brenc, ARNP, provides access to care for people in Palouse and outlying small towns in Washington and Idaho. Here's what patients are saying:

  • “I am so glad I don’t have to travel to town and they can usually accommodate me the same day.”
  • “ I like that you can do blood draws in the clinic now.”
  • “The provider takes time to figure out how to help me and the staff is very accommodating and advocates for me.”

BirthPlace is Women’s Choice

We are proud to be recognized again for the 7th time by Women’s Choice for overall satisfaction in obstetrics. This is based on HCAHPS patient satisfaction scores. In our effort to make navigating maternity and parenthood easier for our patients, we unveiled a new virtual tour of BirthPlace along with a redesigned BirthPlace webpage for easy access to information every expectant parent wants to know.
